League Two takes centre stage in English football this weekend due to the international break, the only league to offer a full slate of games. In this one, we've got mid table Tranmere, who are finally getting going, though too late, and they welcome playoff chasing Crawley on Saturday.
Tranmere Form GuideAt the start of the season, I had high hopes for Tranmere and thought they would go well, but a terrible start to the season left them in a really poor run. However, in the past couple of weeks, we've finally seen them at their best, the best we've seen from them all season, though I do think it's coming too late to get into the playoffs.
They are unbeaten in four games, with three wins and one draw in that period. Most recently, on Saturday they went away to Wrexham and won 1-0, a few days before that they won 2-1 at home to Mansfield, both sides that are chasing automatic promotion. A draw away at Gillingham and a win at home to Sutton rounded off their four game run.
Crawley Town Form GuideCrawley are one of many teams currently in the playoff battle, they begin the weekend in 9th just one point off the top seven, so well within striking distance. And to add further to that, they continue in good form and come here on a three game unbeaten run, with two wins and one draw during that period.
They drew last weekend, a 1-1 tie at home with promotion chasing Stockport. Before that, two wins in a row, a 2-1 home success over Notts County and a 2-1 away success over Harrogate. There's still plenty of teams involved in the playoff battle, so Crawley need to keep going if they want to get in.
Match PredictionI like Crawley, and they're going well, but I have been incredibly impressed with Tranmere recently, and they're showing form that should have been good enough for a big promotion push. They've been excellent and I am backing Tranmere to get another win on the board.
